Outfit Inspiration: The Ombré Dress

It’s been at least ten years since I’ve worn anything ombré. What exactly is ombré you ask? It’s a print that features colors fading from light to dark. Though I remember the trend from the 2000s (the glorious decade that brought us AIM, Delia*s, and the movie Mean Girls), ombré print is all grown up and back on the style scene.

Because they’re bold, ombré print dresses are totally appropriate for a fancy occasion. In this case, minimal accessories are required. But if paired with more casual items, the trend also makes for a sweet daytime look. This delicate green maxi dress has been a staple in my closet this season because it’s light, comfortable, and versatile. Here, I’ve paired my ombré dress with a classic denim jacket for a relaxed summertime look.
