A Love for Tulle Skirts
Blame it on that iconic Sex and the City intro where Carrie Bradshaw flaunts a ballerina-inspired look complete with a darling white tutu, but I utterly adore a good tulle skirt. Why? They’re the epitome of elegance and feminine taste.
For my birthday outfit (because birthday outfits must look fabulous, after all), I wore this oh-so-special pink tulle skirt from (of course) Anthropologie. Fitted with tiny textural bouquets and a bit of sparkle, this piece just begged for someone to take it home. Who am I to decline such a plea? Besides, this style staple is an investment. No, really. Wear a tulle midi skirt in the spring and summer with a simple tank or silky blouse for a ridiculously sweet day-to-night ensemble. Wear the same skirt with leggings, boots, a sweater, and heck, even a wide-brimmed hat for a look that will get you through fall and winter.
Sure, a tutu is commonly labeled under occasion-wear, as something you may try on once in a blue moon. But, why shouldn’t every day feel like a celebration? Perhaps that’s what I love most about a wonderful pink tulle skirt, it simply feels special–and that’s an investment worth making.
I can almost guarantee this won’t be my last post featuring pretty tulle skirts. I’m currently eyeing other options out there including these:
