Leading Ladies: Samantha Burns of LoveSuccessfully
Name: Samantha Burns, LMHC

Current Title: Relationship Counselor, Dating Coach and The Millennial Love Expert at LoveSuccessfully.com
What is LoveSuccessfully? LoveSuccessfully is my business and website where I help individuals and couples empower themselves and their love lives! I tackle all things love—breaking up, dating, increasing relationship satisfaction, and coping with infidelity.
To me, “LoveSuccessfully” means learning to love to your fullest potential, strengthening an evolving connection, and surpassing a deeper level of intimacy than what you ever thought possible. LoveSuccessfully means learning to love selflessly, communicating effectively, and loving someone else and yourself without limitations and exceptions. What inspired you to start your venture? I actually started LoveSuccessfully after writing my book Breaking Up & Bouncing Back, which details how to survive a soul-crushing breakup and develop healthy fundamental skills for a happy dating life.
When I looked into traditional publishing, I learned that you need a large social media following and a long list of subscribers to improve visibility, so I knew I needed to create a platform. Thus, I started LoveSuccessfully.com!
It turned into a brand and business that quickly became much bigger than just a website to support my book. As a licensed mental health counselor, I shifted my private practice to also include dating coaching because I saw a need to bridge the gap between clinical therapy and generic “love guru” advice. I want my services to feel approachable, directive, and supportive while I dive deep and discuss important, emotional topics.
I also carved out a niche working with Millennials—since I am one, I understand the market! Many of my clients are at an age where they’re dating, getting engaged, and getting married. I’m excited by the idea of assisting them with their relationships through these multiple stages of life and helping them create long-term love that lasts!
Sum up your mission statement in one sentence: My goal is to help people learn how to create a love life that thrives!
What’s one thing you’d like people to know about your business: All of my services are personalized to your specific needs. There’s no cookie cutter formula with love—everything is customized to your specific experiences and goals.
What was your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it? With counseling or coaching, clients must be ready and motivated to make real changes. Many people contact me because they’re fed up with dating duds or don’t know how to online date successfully, because they’re heartbroken by a breakup or divorce, or because they’re trying to work through an affair. No matter the issue, they’re ready to dive in.
However, sometimes people contact me because they are curious, but not ready to commit and jump into the work. I don’t like to pressure people into working together, but through chatting with me they often realize that one of the hardest parts of the entire process is reaching out and acknowledging that they need help.
Asking for help is hard because it means you can’t figure it out on your own, and that can lead to shame, disappointment, and vulnerability. Yet, I believe you can turn these negatives into positives. I help empower clients to feel confident making changes and big decisions in their love lives—it’s a collaborative role that we take on together!
What’s one piece of advice you’d like to share with our readers? Love, similar to happiness, is a work in progress, rather than an end state. It takes constant work and must be a priority in your life in order for it to thrive!
If you’re a #bosslady or entrepreneur, my business advice is to pursue something you’re passionate about because when you’re grinding all week-long, you need to love what you do!
On my website, you’ll find my free eBook about the secret ingredients to cook up a happy love life (I’ll be adding another free eBook soon), as well as articles that I’ve written, which have also been published on major national sites such as Elite Daily, Brides, and YourTango. Viewers can also share their personal experiences in love with my “love surveys”, which contribute to my research and writing.
A big component of my business is offering advice, tips and support on Instagram and Facebook. I love hearing from my audience, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with a comment or question! I will personally respond to you.
