Because the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, March presents a unique set of styling dilemmas. Spring is well on its way, but some souvenirs from winter’s passing still linger here and there. How does one dress accordingly? Get creative!
Creative Layers for Spring
This spring, I look forward to light layers and outfits that flaunt a pop of color or embrace a bit of pattern-play. As opposed to business appropriate attire, casual looks allow room for creativity–and a makeup-free face, and a messy bun, and a crazy pair of shades. My most recent casual look for spring combines all of these elements into one playful ensemble.
As classic as a chocolate croissant, the Breton striped shirt is an iconic French fashion staple. Thankfully for style’s sake, the beloved item made the journey overseas. A surefire sign of spring, the delicate blend of navy and cream introduces a touch of warmth into a transitional wardrobe. Let the pattern stand alone, or pair it with something more rugged to give your casual outfit-of-the-day edge. Military vests in olive-green are flattering for all. Opt for a thin silky vest for spring and summer, or go with a vest in a heavier-knit fabric that you can wear again come fall and winter.
