Bridal Boudoir Styled Shoot Inspiration
I love planning, designing, and photographing styled shoots. Why? It’s a great opportunity to get creative and let your imagination run wild.
What exactly is a styled shoot? It’s a collective effort among a group of various vendors who come together and share their talents in order to execute an editorial, stylized photo shoot. Styled shoots are a great way to promote vendor services, get published, and (of course) assemble a cache of gorgeous images.
I’ll share a post full of tips and tricks for pulling off the perfect styled shoot soon. For now, here are some pointers for where to start in terms of the design and planning process. It all starts with a bit of inspiration.
Styled Shoot Design and Planning
There are so many places to find inspiration. A beautiful color palette, an editorial outfit, a statement hair or makeup look, a photograph you love, a pose you wish to capture, or any other design element you wish to incorporate are all great jumping-off points. Choose one starting element, peruse Pinterest, and create a cohesive mood board that encapsulates your vision.
In my case, it all started with a sheer silk lace dress. That, and the fact that I needed to create a bridal boudoir shoot in order to advertise my photography services. The dress dictated the romantic, feminine, and old-world feel of the shoot. Simple floral designs, a natural hair and makeup look, as well as vintage design details and a delicate color palette followed.
Below is the actual mood board I created in order to share my vision with fellow vendors and models. It features all the various details (from floral design to decor, wardrobe, and posing) that inspired the shoot. Inspiration boards dictate the feel and look of a styled session and keep everyone involved on the same page.
Styled Shoot Final Gallery
Below just some of the images from my final styled shoot gallery. I was so impressed with all the vendors who contributed to this shoot and so happy with what we created. This bridal boudoir styled shoot was published on the fine art publication, Boudoir Collective (as seen here). Take a peek!
Vendor Love and Publication
In addition to the Boudoir Collective feature, this shoot was a part of a magazine feature put together by the Boston chapter of The Rising Tide Society. Check out my magazine spread below!
